Amber is the co-founder of Tampa Bay Canine Retreat in Lutz. Her work brings together a lifelong love of dogs, more than a decade in veterinary hospitals, and continued education in training and animal care. She takes time to get to know every dog entrusted to her—their personality, their routines, and the little things that help them feel understood.

Her background
A connection that began early.
Dogs have been part of Amber’s life since she was five years old. At sixteen, she began volunteering at local animal shelters, turning that early connection into hands-on care for animals who needed it.
She went on to earn a degree in veterinary technology and spent more than ten years working in veterinary hospitals, with a focus on surgery and inpatient care. That background remains an important part of how she approaches her work: paying attention to the individual animal and taking their comfort and care seriously.
Amber’s education includes Animal Behavior College certifications and coursework in dog obedience training, service dog training, pet massage, dog daycare, and pet sitting and dog walking. She has also earned twenty-four certificates through Aparicio-Levy Technical College in Tampa, including education in Fear Free pet care.
For Amber, learning matters because every dog is different. She takes the time to understand the dog in front of her, rather than expecting every dog to respond in the same way.

Tampa Bay Canine Retreat is a dream come true for Amber: a place where her love of dogs, years of experience, and commitment to families can come together.
She believes the bond with a dog can be deeply comforting and one of the most rewarding relationships a person experiences. Helping families build and enjoy that bond is at the heart of what she does.
Amber’s relationship with a family does not end at pickup or graduation. She welcomes clients to reach out throughout their lives together with their dogs—whether they have a question, need guidance, or are looking for resources and support.
